In the Filipino culture, a Lola (Grandmother) plays a central role. They are providers, caregivers, chefs, and rocks. I would argue to say that they are the backbone of most families. While riding on the TTC by St. Clair West station I was able to see a grandchild feed his Lola. It was double special because he was eating a chocolate bar. He took a few bites, but before he finished, he knew he had to share some with his Lola.
